gold coast southport fishing suggestions

Hi guys,

New on this forum, was wondering if anyone could give me heads up on a good fishing location near southport on the goldie?

I'm new to fishing but can tie the standard knots and hopefully get a catch i hope!

Hiya and welcome, anywhere on the gc with sand flats should produce flatties, whiting, bream etc .. Also head into any of the many canal systems down there they all hold fish

I see plenty of people near the rocks just outside of the sand pumping jetty, but i always had troubles with snags so prefer to try the sand banks for a change.

Any recommended rigs for the sand banks ? ?

and where are the canal systems?
