Camping/Fishing South East

Hi all, I'm keen to do a bit of camping and fishing in the near future but am a bit stuck when it comes to where to go. I'm looking for somewhere within about 2 hours from Brisbane, if not a bit further, with free camping and a place to fish, preferably saltwater but fresh would do. Just wondering if anybody knows of a decent spot or 2. Not looking to go anywhere populated like Moogerah. Somewhere out of the way where we can literally wake up, walk out of the tent and wet a line. Maybe I'm being a bit picky but any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Inskip Pt offers beach and still water fishing with boat launching facilities. You don't need a 4WD, but this would increase your options. Choice of camping spots, either limited facilities along the point or caravan park facilities at Rainbow Beach.

Brunswick heads or ballina are both worth a shot too. Depending on which campground you can fish from your tent

Mate i do Armed Security in that area and i agree with haines490sic lock up you tent and gear. Alot of things get ripped off in that area. Hope you have a great trip and catch a few
