Propeller/shaft concern

After a recent outing I noticed my prop had a side to side movement of about 2-3mm during my routine inspection. I understand they all have a bit of fwd and aft play but was a little concerned with the side to side play. If anyone could shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated, instead of taking it in and getting told porky pies..the motor is an e-tec 225ho. Cheers Troy

Most motors do have a small amount of movement but if it is worse than normal you may have bent the prop shaft a bit.

It would be worth getting it checked because it can chew out the gearbox seals and fill the box with water.

Shafts can be straightened if the cost of a new one is prohibitive.
