new south wales Severn River Murray Cod

Hi everyone,

Made it to the Severn River over the weekend. It was still showing some signs from the floods but it was great to be out chasing Australian Natives in such a pristine area. No Yellas unfortunately but I did manage to catch a few Murray Cod. I'm glad that the size improved once I got the hang of the retrieve  Hopefully next time I'll catch a legal sized one.

I was on private property but the were 3 public fishing zones where you could access the river at anytime. A great place and worth a trip at some stage if you can

. The guy who owns the property caught a few more than I did. I wish I had more time there as there were so many pools we had to walk past that looked perfect for more.

Nice work, Mick. Good to see a cod thread. Congrats on the catches.
Another old member spent the weekend chasing cod from the Severn for the first time over the weekend too. He got 5 around the same size.

I also went to the Severn where son, Dan, had a fish without any hookups. I didn't play the game as it was a trip first and foremost to get away from it all and avoid people. Successful on those fronts so no complaints.

Glad to hear you had some rnr and I know what you mean. Although I did manage to keep myself busy most of the time, having practically a whole weekend out of phone service was bliss
