new south wales what lb line for 40g lure?

So for reference I have 60lb (27kg) mono leader (Not on my setup right now), currently have on 22lb braid (10kg), i'm looking to put on a Halco Twisty 40g lure for tonight, would I be fine casting the 40g on the 10kg braid?

Any specific knot I should do? I do the classic fishermans knot I think its called, wrap the tag around the line, pull it through the knot and pull it tight, should I tie a palomar (never done it)

Palomar and uni-knot are the most common for tying braid.

20lb braid will be fine for a 40g twisty. I run that lure on braids down to about 12lb.

Palomar is best as a terminal knot on braid when going direct to a swivel, hook or lure.

If you are running a leader I suggest a FG knot to attach then leader then a uni knot or loop knot to your twisty.

What target fish do you have for your 40g twisty at night?

Bit late since I've already went fishing, As the thread tags say, im targeting tailor, i decided to not tie a leader and tied a palomar knot to my snap swivel which is on my lure

Let's hope the bioluminescence is gone shortly then.

5" shallow divers I find the best for tailor after dark....you only want to be working the top foot of water.

Come May there will be lots of tailor about for night time spinning.

ATM the tailor that are around are jumbos and pretty sparsely spread out.
