I was not going to post as it only upsets Dino but decided he needed some encouragement to do his physio and get back on the water.
We spent the day teaching the shrimp to swim and escape those ravenous fish that inhabit NPD.
We were quite successful as we caught 113 less fish than last Sunday.
First fish boated went 55cm much to Jasons delight. and Rick made it a double hookup with a 52 cm yella.
We pulled another 3 yellas from this spot and then the shrimp had a reprieve fo rthe rest of the day with the bass being quite elusive with only the odd fish boated. They were a good size and mostly located in around 50 feet of water. We tried around one of the new fads and caught 2 bass one 325cmm and the other 275mm.
As normal the redclaw pots were productive except the ones that the redclaw had chewed holes in.

Tea is more dangerous than beer. Please avoid drinking tea.
I discovered this last night, I had 14 beers till 3am at the pubwhile my wife was just drinking tea at home.
You should have seen how violent and angry she was when I got home.
I was peaceful, silent and headed to bed as she shouted at me...
all night and even into the next morning.
Please ladies, if you can't handle your tea, don't drink it...- Drop Bear, Cmaltby, kmcrosby78 and 2 others

Hard to know who to believe this was on a yank website
Yet Matt Campbell who is a senior researcher with DAF at their Dutton park complex made the following statement on another forum,
"As far as I know there have not been positive tests on any crab. There is a lot of bullshit being thrown about by people with no idea what they're talking about! "
There is a very real danger that the disease has already infected the wild prawn population in the Logan as the drain from one of the farms always used to be a good spot for tigers when the farm was releasing water.
We really need to see some scientific results of tests carried out and not some politicians self ego boosting ramble.

Seems to be a lot of so called experts offering different opinions. Saw matt Campbell saying no evidence of white spot ever being in crabs on another forum. DR Ben Diggles also had something to say hard to know who to believe but better being prudent.

Thought I would try and collate info on the new SIP permits. In the one thread.
Fishing in stocked impoundments
Download a larger map (PDF, 1.86MB) of Queensland showing the locations of SIPS impoundments or view an interactive map of Queensland showing SIPS impoundments and agents.
Before you go fishing in a Queensland impoundment (dam or weir), check the list below to see if you need to purchase a Stocked Impoundment Permit (SIP).
There are 63 stocked impoundments in the state where a SIP is required to fish.
The permit covers access to all 63 impoundments and allows you to fish with recreational fishing lines only.
About the permit
Permits cost:
- $10.00 per week
- $50.00 per year
- $36.00 per year if you are entitled to a discount*
* You are entitled to a discount if you have a Queensland Government Seniors Card, Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card or a Repatriation Health Care Card (Gold Card).
All persons over the age of 18 years must hold a permit when fishing in SIPS impoundments. Children and teenagers under 18 years do not require a permit to fish in SIPS impoundments.
You must carry your permit (digital email, digital sms, paper receipt) with you when fishing in a stocked impoundment and produce it on request by QBFP.
Digital permits
No need to print out your permit. A digital permit will instantly be emailed and/or sms to you when a permit is purchased online, at selected sub-agent outlets and over the phone.
A digital permit will also be emailed within 24 hours of purchase when a permit is purchased over the counter via Australia Post outlets.
Purchase a permit
A SIP can be purchased:
- online
- over the counter at Queensland and selected NSW Australia Post outlets
- at selected sub-agent outlets throughout the state.
- via phone on 1300 575 359 (permit purchases only, for general SIPS enquiries phone 13 25 23).
Funds raised by stocked impoundment permits
Impoundments are 'put, grow and take' fisheries where most stocked species will not reproduce. This means the impoundments need to be stocked regularly.
The money anglers pay for their stocked impoundment permits goes towards enhancing recreational fishing in stocked impoundments and management of the scheme.
The following financial summaries provide details about permit sales, the scheme’s budget and how the funds available for fish stocking were allocated for the financial year:
List of places where you can purchase a permit.
Stocked Impoundment Permit (SIP) agents
You can purchase your Stocked Impoundment Permit directly from QLD Australia Post outlets, selected Northern NSW Australia Post outlets and selected sub-agents.

Note my personal preference is to purchase from one of sub agents and give them some support for their past support. I wonder if they now will get a commission as I am certain that Australia post will not be doing it for free.
You will no longer require a separate permit to fish Hinze ( Lake Advancetown) here is page from the stocking assn.
The Hinze Dam Fish Management Committee is charged with stocking the dam. In 2016 there were 67,000 bass fingerlings released in the dam. All funds for stocking are raised by Anglers through a permit system.

jeffersi@yahoo.com.auThe recreational use of North Pine Dam is still under review by SEQ water ( Ongoing for last 3 years) there is a proposal to allow kayak fishing but before this can happen there will need to be considerable infrastructure such as access roads, parking areas and toilets provided.
SEQ water have already stated that all watercraft will not be allowed in any of the existing areas near the dam wall such as Bullockys etc as they are located too close to the water intake areas.
In the meantime boating and sailing access is available via Lake Sampsonvale Water Sports Assn. ( NO fishing allowed in their area) Boating ( Electric and paddle only) provided via PRFMA boating access scheme. ( Currently no new permits available with a new round available after 15th August http://www.prfma.com.au/boating-access-scheme.

Anyone remember tv parody called Yes Minister" or back further still to radio character greenbottle. Well they ball pale into insignificance to this.
From memory Des Charles ( I think) put a proposal to the Redlands council to establish a fishery in the dam and asked for rights to run a charter business there. This would have been in the late 1970s or early 1980s.
The and as well up till the dam was taken over by SEQ water the council have been opposed to ny on water or even waterside use of the dam.
I have correspondence going back around 10 years with the council and the answer has been a simple NO.
During the Newman government we had plenty of promises /press releases but no significant progress.
My local counciller and state MP both basically said not in my electorate go away.
I could not even get support from the council or state members ( Dam is bounded by 2 state electorates) to call a meeting to form a stocking group.
Then we have change of government so back to square one.
SEQ water past masters of passing the buck and delay tactics.
A review of the recreational use of the dam just keeps being delayed for various reasons.
I realise that there are major issues with the dam wall that are taking a long time to resolve but to my mind that in itself is a good reason to complete the review and establish some infrastructure such as a ramp whilst the dam is at record low levels.
Same reason that a stocking group could be formed and stocking of bass could be established.
Anyone wanting to see a bit of the latest saga just google leslie Harrison dam and read some of the articles.
http://www.redlandcitybulletin.com.au/story/3389589/plans-to-open-leslie-harrison-dam-sink/
The ball is now with SEQ Water and good luck to anyone who wants to kick it along as my head is too sore from banging it against the bureaucratic brick wall.
Cheers

Is the filter bowl clear and how efficient is the filter? Does it bypass if blocked?quite possible that some gunk was sucked up from the bottom of the tank and is now intermittently blocking the main jet in the carby. Put it in for a service with a reputable mechanic. Also drain tank and check for any remaining residue or it will happen again

Anothe4r one in memory of chubstar,
A funeral procession pulled into a cemetery. Several carloads of family members followed a
black truck towing a boat with a coffin in it.
A passer-by remarked, "That guy must have been a very avid fisherman.â€
"Oh, he still is," remarked one of the mourners. As a matter of fact, he's headed off to the
lake as soon as we bury his wife.â€

First Boat - Which One ?
in Boating
Posted · Edited by rayke1938
Is the trailer braked? Outfit probably over 750kg. With a lot of earlier outfits to keep the price competitive the dearlers would weigh the outfit dry to keep the weight under 750kg and only supply a unbraked trailer,
Scalies quite often hit up the boat ramps of a weekend and give you a ticket and pull off the plates and you have to tilt tray your boat home , mechanical discs are not that expensive with electric a bit more but worth the extra as they are easier to adjust and if you put a relay in the reverse light circuit it disconnects the brakes when you are reversing, ( Stops the brakes locking up when you are reversing the empty trailer down the ramp)
cheers
