A mate got his Seajay 4.3 re-rated from a 50 to a 60 by a marine surveyor, no probs

In my opinion and I have a 5.5m centre console it's will be fine. Just make sure you understand the "wind-against-tide" theroy.
Tomorrow the tide will be dropping in the morning and you'll have a slight easterly wind, which means as you head out to Moreton there might be a bit of chop until you get closer to the main beacons.
You'll be fine in the arvo coming back

Thanks for the tip @samsteele115. Got some nice Spotties and the head of a longie All on lures unfortunately. Didn't make it to Rooneys as he missus didn't think an hour and a half steaming was romantic.

I was on the Moreton Bay Working Group last year as a scientific adviser (I was a Fisheries Stock Assessment Scientist for DPI in a another life).
So if you satisfy the criteria for membership, you should considered. What's Shellfish group makeup?

I appreciate that many have a healthy scepticism around these processes, but if we don't express an opinion then we have no one to blame but ourselves if policy changes aren't in line with our views.
Rant over

G'day norm! Most of the action was a fair way out (10-12km) off arch cliffs. Sight cast at a nice black around a bait ball also
some longies around too on tiny bait
12W for the Blacks and the 10WT for the longies with a size 2 surf candy it is then. Thanks @samsteele115

Hey @fishingnut. Pics are bit small for me to see the specs, can you enlarge them at all?

This probably a bit late but in my experience (and with my precious ones) I always throw in a packet of prawns just to make sure the kids don't have donut days. It keeps them keen to come out with you again in future.
P.S. One of my boys got a Schoolie on a slug last week and was super stoked

JayCar have lithium ones 7.5 AH for $70.
Two great things about lithium
1. It's light
2. You can run them right down without wrecking them

My first boat was a 3.7 tinny with a 15 on the back. Great for southern bay (The Pin especially) and as @Do$tylz says, just stay close to land. I launched from Manly and either fished out the front of Lota Creek or snuck up to the boat passage. Heaps of options if you're smart about it.
I did go to Mud once, cracked every weld on the way back when the arvo SE kicked in

@Drop Bear You might gather from my comment that that side of me was a loooooong time ago. Circa 1980? Black Queen Deluxe or Erskine Deluxe were fantastic for detecting the bites of very wiley Mitchell River bream
