  1. Nice work Neil - did you get the muddie in a pot or caught it on a line?
  2. Great bag of river squire there Hamish, definitely a good day's fishing, well done!!
  3. Good to see you back on here Angus. We just realised we've now been in our house for 12 months and I still haven't caught up with you (or the two Rob's), will have to rectify that when we get back from our Cape trip (leave next Thurs).

    NRL 2023

Assume there are south-easterly winds tonight as I can hear yelling, screaming and cursing from somewhere over near Cav Rd SHS ............ .
  5. That's really annoying (and crap) @Bretto77. I had a trye mob in Yeronga quite a few years ago put my spare wheel back on and break the locknut. Didn't tell me, wasn't til I got home I noticed half of it missing. Phoned them up and he said something like it sometimes happens when using a rattle gun to tighten them. Didn't seem to comprehend the fact that they broke it, they should sort it out ..... unfortunately at that stage of my life I didn't really speak up (I've changed now .... ) so copped it. Have just taken possession of a novated lease Prado and am busily getting quite a few accessories added in a hurry before our trip to Cape York (leave 15 June). A bash plate company in Sumner Park managed to let/organise a courier to the deliver the bash plates to the car dealer (a week and a half after I took possession of the car ...) despite the fact I've booked in to have them installed in a week or so's time. 'Oh yeah the courier was pretty keen to just get them out of here .......'. Umm dipsh!t, the courier only turned up because you asked him to come and collect them, perhaps make notes next to orders so you know who is coming to get them installed (and therefore they don't need to be delivered anywhere .........). Grrrr!!!!!!! Then there's the lease company and my fuel cards but I'll leave it at that ........ .
  6. Now that's short n sweet - nice work .
  7. Nice work on the newbie @Thorbjorn Hale(caught one before?) and thanks for the report Hamish .

Haha, I was hoping 3 of them would lose for you ......... .
  14. So you bought a different car, but are also getting the Navara back in June. What is the new/different car and which one (or both) are you keeping in June? (Sorry, not trying to sound like your wife ..... ).
  15. I saw you so yelled at the kids louder (than normal) to ease my internal anger ....... .
  16. Cracking fish and session Wazza, particularly after the disappointing start. Shame the sharks got two of them but glad you got the big one in through some clever thinking/strategy. Nice work!!

    Boat

Some great advice here. 4.7m is a good versatile length - like @mangajack I'd be interested to know what hull it is. Also, what size motor are you putting on it? Be careful around the Brisbane River mouth, particularly on an outgoing tide if it is against the wind, as it can get real hairy. I'm not sure what boating experience you have but if you're a new boatie or relatively inexperienced I'd be conservative at first. Also, in the bay, factor in the wind direction versus tide direction as this will have a big impact on your ride experience (which impacts both safety and how wet you get in an open boat). Put some pics up once you have it .
  18. Yep, looks like a mould and not the actual fish. Plus he looks far too comfortable holding it ..... a 22kg fish would take a lot of holding (I would imagine ........ ). Cracking fish - I would get it taxidermied too.
  19. Great haul there fellas and magic conditions to cap it off, not envious at all ........ >
  20. Great perseverance there Bob, got the rewards .
  21. Congrats on the longie mate, they're great fun to catch and sounds like you've worked out a trick to hook them . Beautiful time of the year to be camping and fishing over there. Do you mind if I ask where you camped and what mooring the boat was like - does the tide go out far?
