small Trevally

i'm gonna go with a juvenile golden or big eye trevally

heres one i got some years ago in a broadbeach canal

The first one looks like a either a Coahwhip trevally or a brass trevally then the second looks like a big eye trevally.

No expert,my 2c,s

I would hazzard a guess and point towards a juvnile/small turrum.

I,m going by,over all,fins, fin colour,and guessing top/dorsal fins yellow

I know turrm are usually classed as over sized trevally,but I think,you may find that a true turrum is a separate species.

A clearer shot of the lower jaw,may have been a little more help,deciding ,type if he is a trevally.

yeah it definitely have the straight lower jaw like a Trev, you cant see it in the pic, its a bit of a dud pic, the fish was so small I had no idea there where so many Trevally species, interesting, they must have more species than most.

ahhh turrum! they should be called psycho trevally.. i've seen some crazy methods used to try catch one of them from the urangan pier...

nope , at the shultz straight in between the boat ramp pontoon and the warf ,in the middle of that stretch.

testing out a different SP color, powerbait 'bullhead brown'

yep looks like Papuan it is, that pic is spot on, the fish only had gold lower fins, just like the one in the pic.

oh yeah it also grunted a lot too

Grunted huh,definately Papuan then,I saw alot of Papuan grunting against the Poms on TV last night
