Catfish in Cabbage Tree Creek.

Howdy fellas. This is my first Post so I hope you will bear with me. First let me congratulate the admin for a great site. Plenty of info and topics to take note of. Now to the catfish. I would like to ask the members, "Why are there so many of these fish around at the moment?" My sons-inlaw and myself fished the Cabbage Creek on Friday night from around 8pm to about 1am only to catch about 25 humungous blue cattys a few smaller ones and a heap of small stingrays. We had a good night as far as bonding went but the take home fish were non-existing. Just wondering. Thanks Rehro :woohoo:

They are always around but depending on where and when the numbers do fluctuate. Try going down to 4lb line and you just might find that you will appreciate them for what they are which is a local native fish that get relatively large and fight quite well for their size. If you would rather not catch them try lure fishing as it will reduce the amount of catties you get.
