fishing and camping wooli need to know

Has any body fished this location, i have just booked in here for christmas holidays, , dose anyone no on what fish i should be targeting , what tackle i should take and what bait or luresi should use, down there first trip be told great for the kids.

Yeah I fished there a couple of years ago, the Wooli Caravan park was great, good amenities , BBQ'S, clean showers and toilets, big kitchen area, also it is next door to the pub!!

The fishing was a bit slow back then, but have heard it is improved. Alot of shallow water up the creek, great for Flathead and whiting, plenty of old oyster racks around for bream and the odd Jack.

Beach is close by so good for dart tailor, maybe salmon and some jewfish.

Upper reaches of the river are a bit hard to navigate as the water is discoloured and sand bars seem to pop up anywhere!!

Poppers for whiting and bream, or pump for yabbies at low tide, great way to tire out the kids!!

All in all a great place to relax and good environment for the kids!!

yeah its a great spot with all fishing options covered ...

but gets very busy at holiday time ...

at minnie waters just up the road theres a beach launch spot inside a reef.. very pretty spot and quite unique..
