i am goin down to the legendary doug burts tackle world tonight to spend up on big circle hooks, sp's ect...

Next weekend i am going murry cod fishing at a spot i no and go to once every quarter. i usualy use spinner baits and hard bodies but want to go to surface.

i have had afew rises down their befor on cicadas and buzzbaits, but thats it, only rises. can someone shine a light on a few good surface lures and techs for it please. cheers kurt

No top water experience but I imagine something in the soft plastic range that looks natural and a lot like a small snake or lizard would do the trick.

I recall an old magazine from the 80's where they were going on about a cicada lure doing the trick, so maybe just a persist and patience exercise with what you've been doing will end up with a result. If they've risen to them before I think you just need to pester the hell out of them until they get all cranky with it. Did you offer it some pause time ?
