freshy eels - Gold coast

Anyone know a good place for freshwater eels on the Goldcoast?

Ive tried fresh part of coomera and only managed turtles.

Also best bait for eels? Im guessing the smellier the better red meat

near the Q saver shopping center. good tarpon and bream in their as well and it is totally fresh. used to fish it once a week for eels until i found a spot up near home... if have any probs i can meet up with you and key up a eelin trip and then hit the sharks...... what u recon.. cheers kurt

Sounds good Kurt. I,m going to hit Budds beach again on Sat night so might try around Q on fri night/sat morn. If u dont go away due to wheather etc give me a yell. I'll prob do same again next weekend aswell

There is a massive roundabout on the corner of Robina Parkway and Gooding drive at Carrara.

If you head down Robina parkway underneath the 1st bridge.I have seen heaps of eels down there but they are usually smaller ones around 2 feet long.
