rod tip repairs

so was fishing at jacobs well went to strike and ping an inch or so of my rod tip breaks off and im not even sure how :whistle:

anyway does annyone have any tips or tricks to repairing a rod tip

take her down to any tackle store they will fix it cheep as. at most $15.

go to Coles or Woolies buy a tube of homebrand super glue for $1.50...go to a tacklestore and buy a new tip for $3-3.50,glue tip on yourself and save $10....

same happened to me but out on a week long boat trip. i used a lighter to heat up the tip and get the broken bit out and then glued tip back on. it stuck pretty good and hasn't given any trouble

Think it cost me about $7.00 for a fuji tip fitted at tackle warehouse.

Fitted while you wait, and good excuse to go to the tackle shop

Walked out about $207 down

Hi,

Most tips are glued on with hot melt glue on lighter duty rods or 5 minute araldite for heavier applications. Either way heating it up to get the old tip off And then installing the new tip will work as either glue will retain it's strenght once set again.Hope this helps as i build custom rods.
