small fish

Hi all

Just wondering what a small fish is called.

I have caught them at Mud Island and in the deeper water out from Moreton Island

they have a yellow and blue stripe right along there body and have a hair coming off the top of there tail.

Also would like to know if they are good for bait ??

I think you might be referring to a whiptail.

They make decent live bait for cobia.

Actually from what I have read they are meant to be very good eating if you can get a few with a bit of size to them.
