old fuel

hey everyone, i have a spare ten lite jerry tank in the boat atm, there has been fuel in thier since the first time i took the boat out when i filled it up, seeing as though i havent used it yet, what does everyone do with old fuel? it has been i n their for about 4 months maybe now, and dont really want to use it in the motor, should have used it ages ago but yeh havnet

Fuel will start to go off as little as 3weeks, depending on the climate, if its premium fuel maybe a little longer? If you really need to use the old fuel, mix it with new fuel 50/50, or you can just use the 10litres for your car. Better than getting stuck on the side of the road than on the water. Quick way to find out if your fuel is off, have a sniff, if it smells bad forget about it.

As mentioned above. The car or lawn mower is a good place for it.

That being said, I once left my motorcycle sitting outside over winter in the UK for 4 months without using it, as she fired up straight away and ran without any problems on the old fuel.
