How often do you get your motor serviced.

Just wondering how often everyone gets their motor serviced.

I was under impression once a year or every 100 hrs.(suzuki fourstroke)

But after talking to guys who service motors they told me 150-180 if its trolling or it is left on while fishing.

I use mine a fair bit lol so it doesnt take hrs to build up.

How often does everyone else get theirs serviced.

I had Gary from GD Marine service mine last week and i can recommend him to anyone whos looking for good service at good price.

Good bloke too keen as fishermen.

oil and oil filter, every 6 months

fuel filter + gear oil + spark plugs, once a year

water pump, when I feel like doing it.

F50 Serviced Yearly

Replace impeller, inspect housing and replace if necessary

Gearbox oil (Royal Purple)

Motor Oil Mobil 1 (EP)

Oil Filter Henuine

Fuel Bowl clean and inspect

Gearbox spline/Prop spline Inspect and lube

S Spark (replace)

Steering cables inspect and lube

Thin smear of grease under cowling where meets powerhead

Check ohms of leads

Spray of Inox around electricals

This is done by me once a year

Every outing or once a month.

Lubricate steering arm (gearbox oil)

Grease points around motor

Flashlube cleaner

This is done say every month or so.

Shane my motors a Suzuki DF140 I was told and I think the manual is,service every 100hrs or 12 months, check the oil each trip. change the fuel/water filter, impeller, thermostat with service if needed

Shane I get mine serviced every 100 hours which works out yearly for me
