2009 DT30 problems

Hey guys

I just bought a boat for fishing morteon bay. it's a 4m blue fin tinny with a 2009 30hp 2t Suzuki on the back.

It is a lot harder to start then any 2t's I've known. is there any trick to starting these motors?

first thing is have you serviced it? a good rule of thumb is to serviced second hand motors as soon as you get. with my dt30 cold start I put the choke on put the throttle to full lock. then pull the cord till I feel 1 of the pistons at the top of there stroke. then with about 30cm of cord out I pull to start.

Thanks mate. I usually just have it in the start position, and always do a compression pull first, will have to try full ball and see how she goes.

and any good shops around the Redlands to get an outboard serviced?

just replaced spark plugs and had it on wide open to start and started second pull.
