Wine making today

A fine rainy day. Spent the bad weather bottling wine. Did 90 bottles of pawpaw and pear wine. Of course, we had to be tasting each batch. So you know here we are at this evening. Whoopy whoopy!!

Before we drank too much, we planned some of our upcoming trip to Australia. Really looking forward to it.

You manage to get paw paws to grow there?

We believe you are thinking of papayas. Our friends in Tasmania call papayas pawpaws. These are a native of eastern North America. Related to bananas.

looks a bit like a Guava. I am thinking about making some fruit wine. I make my own beer from grain and hops at the moment. Do you have a recipe and tips?

Pawspaws are quite different from Guavas. We have been trying to grow the latter for a number of years. Trees look good but no fruit yet. Perhaps, it's just not warm enough here.
