Gold Coast Seaway

Hi guys, has anybody fished the gold coast seaway / the spit and if so, what fish am I to find there? 

What is an all round good setup to use?

Hi Danny 
You can access the sand pumping jetty for about $6... at the right time of year (winter) ou'll be a chance of tailor by the dozen, jewies with bigger baits, and even kingies every now and then. Same can be said for the seaway. If you're landbased its a tricky place to fish so if you're really keen I would just pay the money and try some whole pillies on a three-gang hook rig with a running sinker to a swivel. If you're in a boat, you only need t look on youtube of the number of jewies and flatties in the seaway. Theres a pipeline running through the middle which is very well marked. Good spot for everything on plastics there.

Oh yeah you'll still get bream and dart, trevally too

Looks like there's been some good squire plus grassies (grass emperor) in the Broadwater lately as well - not exactly sure where and I have't fished there landbased but would think you would be some chance from the rocks. Perhaps jacks there also? Are you landbased or boat?
