I don't know much about trout but I would of thought that small frogs would be instinctually recognized as food by most fish.

You would be surprised what a trout can and will eat, I've never used frogs as bait, but I have absolutely no doubt that they will eat even large frogs.

Yes. Mainly in  Spring & Summer.

It would be easier to name what aquatic animal and insect a trout would not eat...

Frogs would be a very common snack.

I have seen them slurp down skinks swimming across creeks a few times as well.

I have seen a snake headed gudgeon eat a gecko off the top of an aquarium. Was swimming around with the head still sticking out of it's mouth for a good six hours before it actually swallowed the whole thing.

Are you taking about using artificial frogs or live or dead frogs.  I would check the regs if you are planning to use them live. At least in Queensland they are not allowed as bait. They used to be the gun bait for Barra before they banned their use.

Hollow body frog lures would be good for surface fishing. I'm 99% sure no state in the country let's you use live frogs or dead frogs as bait.
