I turned the computer screen upside down. My phone kept re aligning it the right/wrong way up.

Bummer on the score card. Those days are 1 in 100. You find yourself with next to no weight on and sitting on the floor of the boat so the fish can't see the stupid fisherman rig his line and drop it in. Snorkelling is the go on those days.....or squiding on a nice patch of coffee rock or reef. Had a day like that years ago off the top of Moreton. I had the snorkel on and my mate was fishing from the boat. I was like a crane dogman in the water telling him to wind....then stop....now go...strike. We got some good squid that day.

Sorry. Forgot to say. Yep we called 78. Apologies No brag mat...I don't normally brag but the sledging from these north siders made me post one for the southern team. And old scaley..for some reason it's blurry. If you click on it it clears up.

Welcome Niel. You really are the beastmaster. Good sized tailor there. A mate from work is heading up in 2 weeks....I put my order in for some mackerel lollipops. Hopefully he produces. Look forward to the Spaniard report.

Holly crap....that boat will be mental.

It keeps the bait down tight with the sinker when casting. No whipping etc. As soon as it enters the water the red circular disc is forced up opening the gate and forcing the hook out. The claws dig into sand giving it a good anchor. Basically a 3 way swivel on top end on a silde bait setup. It's different but apparently works well.....so I was sold....cough cough....told. Very simple when you see it work.

Young Pete at mossops in Cleveland set me up a "Pete special" rig. It allows for long casts with bait. You can use that too if you like. Apparently it is the ducks guts for bait fishing. I tried it once on Straddie but didn't catch anything. It was washing machine conditions making it extremely hard to fish. The rig worked as it was supposed to though. The hook is just something I tied on for the pick. Normally you would clip your last gang hook in there. When it hits the water the force pushes the red tab up and releases the hook. The claws on the sinker fold back too so if it gets caught on coffee rock or something just give it a forceful tug and the claw will fold back.

Yeah me too. Pm sent Greg. I live on the Southside and I'm sponsoring you with a rod to use. How messed up am I if you catch the winner in that rod?
-
Yeah...I got a 13ft Jarvis walker 2 piece spin rod you can borrow if you need. If it doesn't come back then it doesn't reely matter. Where's the house? Bloke from work up there last week. He was at cathedrals and had a hard time. Apparently the action was down south of maheno and Eli. Oh....and 3 nights is nowhere near enough time on fraser.

Just the other day the world health organisation recommended a boat as the best way to avoid corona virus. You heard a voice from above warning of the flood of all floods coming in 6mths. It's better to go fishing/boating than to become a bar fly at the local pub. Best one though......she can spend the equivalent on whatever she wants.

Go a touch bigger imo. 10ft is only 3m. That's a tender for a yacht. 12ft....or 3.7m is the minimum for a fishing boat imo. Once your loaded with gear, fuel, people etc. Much more practical....and yes on good days you can head to fraser. Just watch conditions and plan your trips wisely. Windy days....stay in the creeks and protected areas. Calm days head out in the bay and down around the islands. To give you an idea....I've been 26k SE of waddy point in a 13ft tinny in 2m swell with not a breath of air around. Had a 30hp on the back but never the less we had a great day and I caught my biggest whole green job fish at 13kg....I've lost bigger to sharks.

I'm guessing round peel island.

Between you and Ray I'm surprised those fish even eat. Every meal they have has a hook in it / on it.
-
No. You will not damage your hull if you beach it. Turn your motor away from your transducer so the boat leans on the opposite side.

My old graywill pulled those speeds. Was great for Cleveland to Cape Moreton runs. Bummer bout the bites not happening. Maybe a whale out there? They can look like rocks if they're resting. Seen a heap 2 weeks ago.

I wonder if these have the same issue as the four stroke. There are 2 issues causing limp problems on four strokes that I have heard of. The gear selector mechanism is not adjusted enough and the motor thinks it's in neutral. Simply remove the gear selector cable from its housing under the engine cowl and wind the little black cylinder 2 rotations in the direction that would cause the shift cable to pull the mechanism further into gear.....or push it further into gear. My 150 four stroke played up after a big long drive back in one day. This fixed it. Hasn't faulted again. The trim sensor on the tilt tube. The engine thinks it is tilted up and in turn goes into limp mode. Haven't had any experience from this particular problem but others have. Could be the first one though. It's an easy 2 minute fix. My engine hasn't played up again.

What motor have you got?
