Bass baitcasters info

Hey everyone, I've got a pflueger medalist 2-4kg baitcaster which I plan to use for bass fishing. The question is would I be better off using a slightly heavier outfit such as a 3-6kg? I will mainly be using the rod for throwing lipless crankbaits such a jackalls etc.. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

For NPD with all the submerged grass i'd say that the 3-6kg would be better suited. All other dams with a clear bank the 2-4kg would be ok.

Just with the jackals they are a pretty heavy lure as i'm sure you would know so the 3-6kg would also give you some confidence when going for the bigger casts.

Personally I use 2-5's in the shorter lengths (5'6" to 5'10") for bass. The shorter length fits both boat and scrub use. I've got a 2kilo I used to love to use until I got Tennis elbow. It has only just got better, I stick with the slightly heavier rods these days! The 2 kilo is relegated to catching shark bait (bream)
