redcliffe to raby bay

Took the son to Redcliffe first up and caught only a few small bream off the northern end of the old bridge. He managed to catch the sand crab as well on some squid but as we had nothing to measure it with we threw it back.

After a couple of hours there went to Raby Bay where more fish feeding took place. Nothing even close to taking home but we both had fun anyway.

Next trip we are going down the Gold Coast so if anyone has any good landbased spots we can try let me know.

The canals near Pacific Fair shopping centre have been good for Bream.

A mate of mine also use to fish the little bridges over the canals in the surrounding suburbs with good results.

The sand pump jetty down the Spit is pretty good 2, though it will cost you $3.50 to fish off it. Its not so crazy/crowded on the bridge now that the tailor run is finishing up. I've caught dart, bream, butter bream, scads and tailor off it and seen people pull in sharks, rays and one bloke scored a 10kg Jew. The store on the bridge has a fish of the month competition and keeps a score of the largest catch of the main species. Or you could just throw a line in off the rocks along the Spit.

woo pipe action!~

Mod help tip for the day:-

To correctly post a link you need to click on the "URL" tag in the Boardcode section above the text box you're typing in. Post the link inbetween the first URL brackets and the second URL brackets. Sounds complicated but is easy when you see it.

Cheers

nah, from my memory the urangan pier pipe carried water for the old sheds/work area at the end before it was demolished to its current size.. so a 6 or 8 inch pipe

sand pumping jetty has a much larger pipe running off one side that rises above the jetty towards the end and makes a crazy rumble when its in action

ps distance to water from sand pumping jetty would be very similar to urangan pier at low tide
