yak fishing the mouth. where to go?

im heading out with a friend in our yaks around the mouth of the river tomorrow. thought we would put them in as close to the poop shoot as possible to restrict paddling distance. any advice on where to go and what lures etc would be great. harry

p.s - i dont have a sounder.. yet

We use the Boggy Creek boat ramp at the end of Priors Rd. If you're more adventurous you could try robtarr's launching spot http://www.australianfishing.com.au/forum?func=view&catid=10&id=186703&limit=20&start=20

My favourite lure for around Boggy is a Mann's stretch 5+. Good luck!

if i was in a yak in the mouth of the brissy mate i wouldnt be fishing near the poop shoot, id be over the other side sneaking under the port wharves and bottom bashing for some very good sized snapper...just what i would do,,,but good luck

Ok, the strangest thing just happened, I received a personal message from another member of this forum, he told me that I have to remove my previous post as it is illegal to fish under the wharves ????? I mean seriously? Comeon, I am not telling people that it is legal....I am quite surprised that another member can send me amessage telling me that I have doen wrong, I personally didnt think there is anything wrong with my post before this, but if the admin think it is innaproppriatte rayke then I am sure they will remove it...I have seen other posts regarding more serious things that they havn't been hassled for mate (FAD"S) for example. Okay, nobody go under the wharves fishing, it is highly illegal and it will not be tolerated..I am sorry

aichepee it is illegal to fish under the warves at the port , however, you could try bottom bashing 30 metre's away from them and cast you bottom bashing gear well under the warves and you will catch yourself some good sized snapper

A few blokes have also Kayaked along the front rock wall. Based on my experiences there in a boat this would be pretty sweet in a yak!

Maybe that lagoon inside the sunken wall could be worth a go as well.
