queensland Russell island land based

headed out to russell island to a mate's place for a few days in late august. i was just wondering if anyone would be kind enough to share any information or experiences regarding fishing there. i'll be taking a light and medium spin outfit and my usual tackle so pretty much anything you can think of land based would be appreciated!

I stayed at nearby (?) Karragarra Is recently and had a heap of fun catching small tailor, trev and pike off the passenger ferry jetty at night time.

if Russell has a well lit pier/jetty, I'd be giving that a crack with small shallow divers.
