hi great people

have a newbie and a mexican - ok a Victorian wanting to fish on Saturday at Mud Island

they have heard it's ok to fish - can anyone help with some marks

gday mate, when you get out there you'll probably see a fair few boats, and then you'll wonder how anybody catch's anything. don't mean to be negative but the place gets flogged on the weekend, however i have seen some good fish caught there but mainly during the week when there's less traffic.

any of the drop offs around the island can produce good fish, i usually fish 4 mtr - 9mtr drop offs using nuke chooks in 4" minnows 1/4oz tt jig heads , it produces a good variety and drifting helps to locate good spots for fish. give the n/e cardinal marker a go for starters then start exploring around the island. good luck mate!

Try trolling lures or pillies around the island at this time of year for Tailor. They are less affected by the boat traffic and can be a blessing on a busy weekend.
