Sharks and Sharks

Hi All,

Heading out late tomorrow night for a land based shark fish and want to know if their is any or has been any shark catches within the last 2 weeks?

Anyone with info on sharks let me know.

mate talk to fishguru he jsut went shark fishing last week and caught a few down and nudgee beach but i dont no how many

i was at shultz canal yesterday fishing for flathead and there were bait fish sprays everywhere. that was near the gateway motorway, there was one guy fishing for them but he was using dead baits with an empty water bottle as a float, he didnt catch anything

however i dunno if i would like to be around those parts of the woods at night

pretty dodgy at night. but yeah theres been a heap of bait and seems to be a school of bully's go past at a certain part of the tide.

(ii) Migratory sharks that use parts of the Bay as a seasonal nursery (pigeye sharks, common blacktips, dusky sharks and scalloped hammerhead sharks).

These sharks were caught as neonates (shark pups) and juveniles but were absent from the shallow waters sampled for much of their life histories. Pigeye sharks, common blacktips and scalloped hammerheads were caught in larger numbers during the warmer months. Although juvenile dusky sharks were caught in all months, catch peaked in winter, a period during which the abundance of most sharks was low. This temporal partitioning may be advantageous to dusky sharks, as it may result in low interspecific competition for food, combined with a relatively low predator-density environment.
