yeah when we went out the other day we watched 2 guys get thrown out of a boat in currumbin ck bar and the skipper was able to stay inside when a wave hit them and nearly turned it over. we watched and yelled advice to them and hung around in case for assistince these 2 men were wearing life jackets. it was scarey watching the boat as it got hit by another wave stalling the motor and nearly rolled the boat again this boat had little freeboard and should not had 3 men in it crossing the bar on an outgoing tide. we watched and told them to swim to shore witch they were able to do and also yelled at them to give it a miss today for fears they would give it another go. it turned out lucky for them and we moved on but it could have ended worse like this mishap you just need to play it safe and work the right tides and conditions

looked about 14foot but with 3 big fellas in which reduced its freeboard and it looked like an old clunker these guys had no idea what they were doing either we went out and never saw any wave as we timed it perfect

sad to hear bri...

good effort, did he have a lifejacket on

taken from msmnine today... quote "the man saved himself, making the marathon swim - without a lifejacket and in extremely strong currents - to Fingal Head where he clambered over rocks and knocked on a stranger's door to ask for help."

going by the article apparently took him about 6hrs to cover about 7.5 kms, must have had his nutrigrain for brecky.
