queensland Boyne river Barra donuts

Well went upto tannums sands for easter to visit family and try to catch some of those awoonga escapee barra, only to recieved catfish and tarpon. I tried all through out the river, mouth, mid and upper reaches, trolling and and casting with gold halco laser pro, bomber lure and slick rigs but no barra. the mouth had quite a few anglers with only 2 or 3 barra being caught out of about 15 boats in 3hrs. the upper reaches looked very promising with the flooded tree banks but still no luck. probably would have had a better chance if the pro gill netters didn't net 3 tonnes of barra out of the river 1 or 2 months ago, it was such a waste beacause they tookem to the fish co-op and they got rejected cause they are dam barra. I headed home and stopped in at imbil hoping for some better luck with the bass. report is in freshwater.

likewise bud we lucked out, quite a few frames at the ramp but it looks like the easter weekend was too late. like you said word from the locals was that the pros had been through and raped the lot which is a shame really.

looks like you had a good time regardless.
