queensland woody point all nighter

Decided to go for a fish tomorrow night (tuesday) after footy training.

will be down on woody point jetty from 9pm through to 6am.

Feel free to drop down if anyone is keen. look for the big guy at the end of the jetty freezing his nuts off, that'll be me! :silly:

What are you targeting?

Plan is to send out some live pike to see what is around and flick around some plastics and HB's whilst I am waiting.

Also hoping to pick up some squid.

How do u go getting live pike there? I've never tried at woody point jetty

I mite join you see how i go today.

The pike i normally catch off there are caught on HB a spring tide is the best time to do it. You can normally hear them hitting the bait and just the slow roll works best but make sure you lean over the railing to get the rod tip closer to the water..

yeah either HB's or i've had a bit of success with an unweighted plastic hopped slowly across the surface

They work well for pike at night. I wouldnt recommend throwing a silent HB tho. My pike killer is a clearance lure from tackleworld it doesnt have to much paint left on it but the silver glitter stripe is still on it. Come down for a fish mate.

pretty shocking mate. winds picked up to twice what they predicted.

between the two of us we got 13 pike. threw a cpl out as livies which only got picked off by crabs.

I ended up going home with 1 lousy squid and Shimanowboie went home with zip.

Don't mind being out for that long with little results when you're around good people. Just would have been ALOT more comfortable if the wind hadn't picked up. Didn't help that i stupidly decided to fish in boardshorts :pinch:

might have to give woody point a miss for a while though.

next week will be either shorncliff or the fish platform on the ted smout bridge.

One old bloke at the end having a beer, listening to his radio and fishing without checking his baits for more then 6 hours. It was funny when i walked past and he was snoring hahahaha
