Big blues around atm but you have to head way out the shelf. Like jord said spring/summer is the best time of the year plus theres a better chance of getting a wahoo, mahi mahi or mackeral.

spot on mate have heard some good blue reports spring is prob the best to catch the run of blacks that come thru

For south east qld i've found summer and autumn the best time for the black marlin in close to the coast and the same for blue marlin out wider they can make a show late in spring but the better numbers only really start when summer hits in december and then really ramp up in january onwards

I've caught all mine on live slimie mackerel or fresh dead slimies after finding big shows of live bait on the sounder so its when the bait show up is the key imo
