queensland Cotton Tree report

Hey Guys,

I started a topic a few weeks ago: camping at cotton tree caravan park, surf fishing

so just thought I would write up a quick report,

Well the fishing didn't go as expected, didn't get as much time as I thought I would, my family had other plans...

when I did get a chance the conditions were terrible: the surf was all over the place and very windy, and the maroochy river currents were unbelievable even my big surf sinkers wouldn't hold in a river... WOW anyways caught one 30cm whiting and 1 undersized bream... sorry I didn't take photo's of fish because I had higher expectations...

but I did enjoy the camp and just getting out somewhere different and wetting a line.

Mate, I thought of you when I was at Alex last Wednesday. The wind was whipping up the surf which was chundering onto the beach....not real good for fishing.

At least the sun was out

yeah we're glad the sun was out, that made for an alright camp, just conditions wern't the best for first time surf fishing... I'll have to give it another go again soon... just not to sure about Cotton tree, maybe try down the coast
