Anyone bought a rod from cabela's?

I was looking on the Cabela's website and they have a few nice rods but not sure if i should buy from them. Has anyone bought any tackle from there before, if so, was it a hassle?

I've never bought any fishing gear from them, but I have bought plenty of hunting gear (arrows, broadheads, and such) never had any problems with them, great service and quick delivery.

No probs mate, Bass pro has a great range too, just be sure to check the shipping costs cos it can really hurt on some items.

Yeah bass pro has some pretty good deals too. I just found the shipping cost. 45% of the order But there still are some deals which would save me $40 to $50 if i bought it over there including the shipping.

Personally I reckon you are better off purchasing your rods in AU. The freight is a real killer on rods from the states.

If you are after a particular rod keep looking at the sales here or go and have a look at the Austackle range .

For something in a higher price range check out the Nordic Stages they are absolutely unreal.

Another big advantage of the aussie purchased rods is that if you have a warranty problem it can be dealt with locally.

I haven't bought any gear from Cabela's since moving down here. I used to buy online all the time back in the US and they were always extremely good with delivery and reasonable freight costs. The UPS guy always had the same joke when he was dropping it off - "I was really tempted to say that this one was lost..." Then he'd hang around while I opened up my toys

After they opened up a huge store about 5 minutes from where I lived, I started just going there directly instead of online though I think BassPro has the better selection. I think all but 2 or 3 of my rods are still from Cabela's though; I flew them out here with me.

THanks all, Im looking for a 3 to 6 kilo rod with a 4000 sized reel. The reason i am looking at the usa at the moments is cause it the end of there summer soon and they have good deals. I normaly buy local but just love the huge range to choose from.
