hey all i have been looking around for awhile now for a bush basher 4wd, im looking for something under 4 grand has to start and run fine, i would prefer one with a lift but isnt a big deal if it doesnt have one, doesnt matter if its a ute or wagon would prefer a diesel over petrol and has to be in QLD dont mind driving or getting it trucked here, the car i would like an old cruiser or patrol but anything will do as long as its suitable for us. i have looked over the internet for some and found a good 1989 for maverick 4.2 turbo diesel for $3100 which was perfect but either the add ended or it sold all help would be appreciated.

cheers ryan

you can have mine , 90 GQ wagon 4.2 Petrol , 146ltr tank , 2" lift , 33 muddies on 15 x 8 alloys , rear air locker with the compressor under the passenger seat with tyre inflation kit , bullbar , side steps , high lift jack points on all cnrs , tinted windows ,dual batteries with isolator , snorkel , awesome stereo , spotties , uhf , factory sway bar disconnects , extended diff breathers into engine bay . probably more but cant think of it now

EDIT 7 seater !!

Bad points -- Rear window frames rusting , speedo winds over everynow and then . tap the dash and it comes back . few little dints . bonnet paint is crowfooting slowly ,

needs a service

looks good for a 20yr old car and runs sweet as .

only selling it as we got a new bub and we just dont use it for 4wding anymore

$5000 as is . no RWC

Depends what type of 4wding you are doing. Pre 1997 the hiluxs have leaf spring suspension all round after that the have IFS suspension up the front. Leafs all round are better for 4wding as you will get more articulation with them and will probably be stronger than the ifs up the front.

If your just after a bush basher an old hilux would be perfect. They are pretty strong and reliable and will get you most places you need to go, slowly!
