For sale posts are great

But would it be possible to have a remove this thread tab for the poster or for admin so all posts pertaining to that item are removed

as the item has been sold or given away to try and free some space of dead end posts

Yes and also if u triple post or double post like me it would be good if u could remove posts

The person who made the post can edit the post including the title. Thus the poster can edit the heading to read for example \"SOLD\". Leave it up to the mods to delete double and triple post. Allowing free reign in the form of deletions could have significant and annoying side effects.
