queensland victoria point sunken barge

Left home this am at 5 am intending to fish sunken timber barge out from the old base st qps ramp, My trusty gps told me i was there and there was only 5 ft of water where there should have been a drop off into 20 odd feet. Havent been there for a few years and all my odl marks are obscured by new houses so just looked around on my sounder and found a likely looking drop off and proceded to fish. Caught 2 grinners on soft plastic and one shovely on a piece of pilly.

Westerly started to get a bit cold at 7.30 so spent another 30 min trying to pick up barge on sounder before going home , couldnt find it so i suppose it may have silted over. It used to sit right on the drop off in about 15 feet with a big hole about 25 feet on the Cootchie side.

Next time im out and its aclear day i will try to pick it up visually as when the water is clear you can see it on the bottom.

Shame.

I hate the frustration of not bein able to find faveourite spots.

Or more often when your favourite spot no longer exists
