Shallow Tempest is another 7km from the cape, Deep Tempest is about 12-20km from the cape so don't forget to factor that in.

There are still some ok reefs close to the cape though.

So the Deep Tempest area is just over 50km from Bribie.

Thought I'd give an update on the boat issue I had. Turns out a particular ETEC dealer down south were a bunch of slack arses and didn't bother to replace any of the Mercury 175 fuel lines when the new 200 HO Etec went on 6 years ago.

Turns out the old lines simply couldn't supply fuel to the motor once fuel in the tank dropped below about 90 litres remaining in the fuel tank (the gravity forces assisting the flow to the motor dropped to a point where fuel starvation occurred).

Wynumn Marine diagnosed the problem and replaced all the lines as well as installing a float level, problem solved.

I have since used over 100 litres in the boat in one outing without drama.

Good to find out.Would not be good to be offshore and it start playing up. Someone kinked a hose when they did a service on mine and she ran horrible until I found it.

Did the fuel bubble collapse on itself?
