Which weight

I want to try hard bodies an like the tt switchblade, I mainly fish off the banks. What would be a good starting with size? I was thinking the 1/8, would appreciate any advice. Regards john

When picking hardbodies i believe people tend to stick to the lengths as a measurment over the specific weight (obviously if its windy you'll want something a bit heavier) - generally you'll either be fishing:

shallow-diver

medium

deep

depending on the structure that you are fishing. example if im finshing canals i'll throw mostly plastics but also some 38mm deep diving hardz

I think his referring to the switch blade (vibes) weights khoi 1/8th will be fine if you're fishing landbased and in most situations on a boat. In my experience 1/6th or 1/4 ounce blades seem to heavy in most areas.

for me it is 1/8 or 1/4oz great for casting and i like them on the rods i use cause the wieght is well within the rods casting wieght limitations and i can really get into it and flick it good distance.

Have never tried these type of lures but prob should sometime. Thinking they'd be worth a try along the drop off near the poo schute?

It can't hurt to get a few sizes. I normally use 1/4 as a searching lure purely to get a good cast out but if the fish are spooky start down sizing until they want to play the game. If they are really spooky you can look at something like ghost blades.

I am still learning the art of blades. What’s the best way to retrieve them? Slow roll or short hops along the bottom?

Both retrieves work. Mix it up.
