queensland Hard earned snaps

Hey all,

Got out for a fish over the weekend - although not our preferred tides for chasing snaps, a beautiful morning to be on the water. Best fish went 59 when alive on the mat but seemed to shrink down to 55ish in the esky. Caught by my mate so I rekon he was standing on it to stretch it out :whistle:

Fish caught on mostly on bait, also on plastics and vibs.

Other catch included a fair share of small snaps, a couple of small trevs, flatty, sole, and a suspected red throat emperor. Would this be on the cards?? no pics sorry but generally brown body, bright blue lines around eyes and red inside the mouth. (went about 33-35cm).

The brown and blue eyeliner sounds a lot like grassy sweetlip

That is a great bag of fish for the bay. I am with Terry sounds like a grassy sweet lip to me. Often when u measure a fish when alive the mouth is open. When remeasured when dead the mouth is closed. This will add a few cms to the fish.
