queensland Orchid beach-Wathuma-Platypus Bay advice

Hoping someone can help here.

Never been to Fraser but am going up before Chrissy staying at Orchid beach.

I'm in the process of booking one of the Hervey Bay charter guys to meet me at Wathumba ck to fish Platypus bay.

On the day the high tide is at 5:18am so the charter guy thinks he should be able to get into the creek to pick us up but may be a different story in the afternoon.

Just after some info on the track to Wathumba and approx travel time?

Is any part of the track affected by tides?

We may have to meet the charter at the western beach if the creek cant be accessed, a mate said that there is a creek to cross between Wathumba campground and the western beach.

Paying upfront for the charter so I want to make sure the plan is sound, any info anyone has to pass on would be great!

I've never been on the island but fished around wathumba a few times. Great idea to get a charter to pick you up up there. Wouldnt it be easier to just get picked up on the beach so tides aren't an issue with wathumba Creek?

That's what I thought also but from what I'm hearing there may be another creek between the campground and the western beach.

Looking at Google maps the creek could be Yeerall creek.

As long as we can walk across it everything should be sweet.
