Pumpkin Island

Hey everyone,
I am keen on checking out pumpkin island and doing a bit of fishing in the esturarys around yepoon. Myself and another friend are keen to check it out in about 6 -7 weeks. I was wondering if this time of year would be ok to get out to the islands? i remember when i lived in mackay a few years ago and this time was still quite windy for some reason, also would this weather be ok for fishing around the islands then? and would have the flood debris be gone buy then? Wind has been terrorising me since late last year up here what size boat do you have?

we will be going in a mates 4.2 tinnie with a 40hp 4 stroke or mine of the same size with a 30hp

Same size as my boat. 10lnots is bareable. Do you know some places to fish?

nope none at all, just wanted to check it out and fish around islands

Ah ok cool, well look at conical rocks and north keppel area

Do a search for either Pumpkin Island or reports by @wesfish as I'm pretty sure he put a couple of reports up for there with some very impressive fish.

The island was owned by a relative of mine until a number of years ago. Unfortunately I can't give you any fishing info.  There maybe a few beer cans scattered over the island now
