Yak/canoe near new farm walkway

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and brissie river fishing but have fished up and down the coast.

Looking for any info or experience of anybody fishing the river bank just near the floating walkway at New Farm. I was down there with my mate this morning just going for a walk and there looked like some really good structure by the bank and could hold reasonable fish.

He's got a canoe with a 3hp motor that would get underneath the bridge at each end and give great access to that little bit of sheltered water. We were thinking of launching across the river (since there that looks like the closest launching spot) then flicking some lures around. Maybe see if I can get some livies as well but my cast netting skills are what they once were.

Any advice? Thanks Mike

I'm going to try around there landbased some day soon. Around Newstead can be ok, check out the reports from the last few weeks there.

I just bought another 7 of those $4 kmart lures from the third report down.
