Closest stocked impoundment is the North Pine Dam. You can currently shore fish there. Both the Brisbane River and Pine River should have stocks of bass, at least from those going over the dam walls!

North Pine Dam is god coz you can fish from the shore and get decent bass.

The upper Brisbane does have a fair few as Feral said that have goen over the wall.

If you want a better than average shot at getting some Bassies, give Steve Wilkes a call. His number can be sourced from clicking the Sport Tuition link. His charter is well worth it. And you could almost garuntee a bass or two. Well as garuntee as you ever can when talking about fishing anyway.

Steve operates on Hinze Dam which is just shy of an hour from Kenmore.

North Pine is close. But if you went with Steve for a day at a cheap $60 for a 6 hour guide around Hinze you're guaranteed a haul of Bass. Plus you're in Rosco Bass Catcher Canoes powered by an electric to make it a piece o' cake.

yea true... i went out on a fishing trip on hinze a few years ago cant remember who with but it was on a pontoon boat powered by 4 electric motors, we had an awsome time and i caught my biggest bass to date which is 62cm but the only thing about hinze is if you want to just fish it recreationally you need a license dont you and at northpine dam you dont

I don't think Bass have been in Hinze long enough today to reach 62cms. Let alone a few years ago. They haven't even been in there long enough for them to reach 55cms any Bass 50cms+ from Hinze is a good Bass. Who else agrees?

I woulod reeeeeeeeeealy like to see that photo.

I dont want to be a sceptic, but Steve fishes the dam every week pretty much and he reckon just over 40cm is a pretty awesome fish for Hinze.

Plus Somerset, which is knwon for its monster Bass still considers a 50cm a very very good fish.
