Fish Waste

can anyone tell me why they ask you to bury your fish waste at high tide mark?

Tilapia: So its not possible for the eggs to reach the water

on beaches: so when the tide comes up the fish remains dont come up with it.

Beats me , I give mine to the Crabs, Sharks & Crocs :laugh: :laugh: Don't know realy,but up north you are advised not to leave old baits & frames or anything around the ramps. So not to entice the Crocs.

Because some noxious species have highly developed reproductive strategies e.g. female Tilapia carry their eggs and larvae in their mouths and these young can survive for extended periods after the female has died.

EDIT: Good point Lozzel, our friends told us it wasn't kosher to clean our fish near a ramp but we thought it was for etiquette reasons.

cheers terry just seemed weird i thought it was a shark thing. i cant understand why a discarded fish skeleton and gut content would'nt feed up a couple of hungry fish?>
