    Hi all,
Came across a 1 day only sale and thought it would benefit someone who was in the game to buy some new gear so thought I'd create a post.
I was also thinking this could be a thread for others to share other bargains/sales that they come across in future that might help others. Please keep in mind site rules around advertising etc so no self plugging or spamming.
The below is on sale TODAY ONLY at a 3 letter boating, camping and fishing store.
1000, 2500, 3000 and 4000 sized reels at discount of over $100 with a range of suitable rods for you to select from worth $79 for free. Sent it to an old work colleague this morning at 7am and he ordered by 7:30 🙂 Bargain!

Just tragic news and a tragic story. My condolences to family and friends.
I was out on the water today (no pics, didnt catch anything worth it) and we noticed how much activity there was from helicopters and a few police boats earlier on. I was hoping it was just training and thought "nah, can't be another accident".
Sorry to come back (after another hiatus) with a debbie-downer post but I want to remind people about safety on the water. That's now 3 lives gone in a few months on the water that many of us play in.
Lifejackets! Put them on. Especially when you are in choppy waters in the bay or when on your own. I get it, wearing the big block ones are a pain. Fine. Then go buy the slim ones. Spend $70 to save your own life. Spend another $70 and get 1 for your passenger too.

Bit of a late report from last week. Headed with with a few mates to fish the inclose grounds around SPB and point lookout hoping for some big snaps. The weather was less than ideal but the fish were on the chew. First drop of a pilly sees my drag screaming with a suspected big snapper but unfortunately reefed me in about five seconds. Next up my  mate lands two stonkers around the 85 mark. The other mate was up next with a massive spangley of similar size. It was turning out out to be an unreal start to a great day out.

after this every drop was producing a solid longtail, bonito or Mack tuna. We stocked up on some bonito and Mack’s for future baits and kept a few longtails for the table. We left the tuna biting and headed to chase some more reefies and we weren’t disappointed. We tried boat rock but it was totally unfishable due to the swell, wind and strong under currents. As the day went on the weather got a bit better, the fish kept coming and I managed to nail a 76cm snapper (my best so far this year). I was stoked to say the least, a quick photo and he was released as we already had two big ones in the boat.

We managed few more good sized grasses spangles and other bits and pieces. I even managed a legal tomato cod which I’ve never got this far south before aswell as some solid cods. All in all was cracking day out despite the wind and swell. Looks like I’ll be eating some quality fish for while again aswell.

Headed up to 1770 with a mate in his boat on Thursday destined for a few days on the great barrier Reef. We stayed in town that night got all the fuel and ice topped up then left the ramp early Friday.

The forecast was for great weather and we weren't disappointed, my mates 670 Bar crusher cruised easily to our fishing grounds.

We dropped baits down and were rewarded with a few good tuskies and red throat emperor on our early spots.
It was Graham's 1st time up there so a lot of the fish were PBs then he bagged his 1st coral trout.

The fishing continued at a steady pace of quality fish caught, we went wide looking for red emperor but found the deeper reefs dead. Back in closer it picked up again and mid afternoon the trout really come on along with quality red throat that Graham couldn't believe how hard these fish fight all the way to the boat.

Before the sun set we anchored up on a nice reef drop off in a sheltered position behind the reef. The red throat emperor and Moses perch got thick after dark and we had some fun in the shallows. We put some floating pillies out for a Spanish Mackerel on dusk but that didn't turn a reel.
The next morning we headed out deep again but it was still shut down so reefs under 50m were where the fish was. By late morning we decided to run down to Fitzroy lagoon for lunch and a swim. We hooked up to a mooring bout and jumped straight in. Graham didn't want to leave and sat on his duck board legs in the water knocking back a few cold beers.

We finally left heaven and headed back to the ramp at 30 knots and stayed another night in town before driving home.

received_839565710237602.mp4 Already can't wait till I'm back on the reef.

Yep - Ray even posts the GPS marks for where he fishes a lot of the time.
From when I went with Ray a few weeks ago, there is a bay that was holding bass right up towards the fishing limits near the sailing club. Pretty sure Ray has dropped the marks on those in his posts somewhere.
