Not to dismiss the idea of logs entirely, But simply taking pics on your phone of all of your catches, no matter how insignificant the catch may seem at the time, will automatically provide you with your own quick fishing log at your disposal into the future.
The dates stored on your phone pics can be easily compared back with tides, moon phases, etc from years gone by.

Looks like tuesday is looking good for an overnight camping trip at Blakesleys Anchorage at North Straddie.
I should be there by lunch time tuesday, staying over night in my pissy little 2 man tent till wednesday lunch time.
Midday high tide should allow minimal distance to carry firewood etc up to camp.
All welcome to meet up for a chinwag, and an overnight campfire cookup and drinkies
Bring your own lambchops, snags, drinks, tent, blankets and sum firewood to keep us all warm and toasty
A nice easy fish from the beach using yabbies might even result in a bream or whiting to enter into Hamish's winter classic too

A quick google search confirms for deep cycle agm batteries, the slower the charge rate will extend battery life.
Excess heat build up inside deep cycle battery if charged too quickly may also be an issue.

Yes forgot to say mine is 55lb on a 4.2m tinny
And yes your calculations for anticipated run time verse amp draw/ battery life seem correct for what i have experienced with practical real life use for the last 2 years using it.
Who wants to fish in a raging current anyways....
I dont think 120ah is considered kickass, i think this would be considered a minimum, it cost approx $250 a couple of years ago and still lasts ok
So the important thing is to use the RIGHT charger so i was advised years ago, (Jaycar) were most helpful

I dont know the technical reason either.
But i also have a four stroke yammy connected to a normal 12v battery at rear of boat.
My minn kota is connected to a seperate deep cycle 12v 120ah battery at front of boat.
I can run the minny on spot lock all night without flattening the deep cycle battery.
(This depends on water current, minny can last all night on speed 3 or 4, but if you use the rabbit function or use any speed higher than say 7 for longer periods the electric current draw will flatten deep cycle quite quickly.)
I then recharge deep cycle when i get home with a DEEP CYCLE battery charger, which can sometimes take 48 hours to fully recharge deep cycle battery.
Hope this helps somewhat.

With the next several days of weather looking crap, i decided for a solo session today. Southerly wind was bloody cold and the bay was somewhat choppy although it was forecast to drop slightly after lunch for a brief period which it did only for an hour or two.
Managed a snapper on board , a quick pic and floated it back in the landing net in the water while bending over the side of the boat and sent it back down happily on its way
Thats probably it for me on the snaps this winter, might do a camping trip next week before i go back to work
