  1. Make sure you tie on a heavier leader like 30/50 pounds for the threadfin and jew, you might struggle releasing a big thready if you fight it for a long time on light line.
  2. Nice job Ray, good to see the cod breeding pipes as well.
  3. Welcome to the forum @LucasV
  4. Great work @FishingCrazy. I'll hopefully be able to get onto some in coming weeks on surface as well.
  5. Hey mate, Buy yourself a dilly crab drop pot from online. You can lower this down and catch the fish in it, then pull the fish and dilly up. This means if it is undersize/undesirable you don’t need to kill it to release it. Cheers Hamish
  6. Sounds like a fun session Ray, good to hear of a nice yella being landed too.
  7. Sounds like a great session, nice job. Good work on the cobia too.
  8. You could try Ebay. 100 x Bulk black Long shank baitholder hooks size 6 free ship $8.9 | eBay
  9. Nice work @flattyfan4573, sounds like a great grunter.
  10. Nice work Rebel, sounds like a productive session.
  11. Great looking boat! Looks like it’ll be a weapon on the fish
  12. Any knot like a uni or blood knot will work.
  13. You can also make a rig where the sinker comes off from the side swivel, effectively making your bait a fixed sinker rig on the bottom (similar but slightly different to a paternoster).
  14. I normally use a loop knot when using lures as well, but if you're changing lures frequently then a snap swivel may help make things easier. The downside is that the snap can supposedly hinder the action of the lure, but I have never personally experienced this. You could try tying a leader knot (for example, FG or Albright knot) from the end of your spooled line to the start of the leader, this way you can make your leader longer without having to worry about a swivel getting stuck in your rod guides as well.
  15. Sounds like some great fishing even if there were a lot of sharks @crazywalrus, good stuff!
  16. Sounds exciting! There seems to be an issue with all photos on the forum lately.
  17. Same here, no pics on iPhone or computer.
  18. Hi Steve, yes I have noticed this, I should probably try the zman 3 inch Minnowz lure. I find I normally get one or two uses out of the same baitjunkie before it just slides off the jighead keeper every cast.
  19. RMG Scorpion 35 in Golden Green for bass or 3.2 inch Baitjunkie minnow in Motor Oil for flathead.
  20. Nice work Ray, a few little ones is better than none.
