Wild Bass hot session on the Surface

Went out this afternoon to chase some wild bass, weather was hot and stormy so I had my hopes up for a good session. got on the water and tied on a Luckycraft 50mm Diver, paddled up a little bit and first cast into a snag and im on :woohoo: :woohoo: get sight of a 30 odd cm bass and the hooks pull :angry: oh well its only early. fished with the diver for a while for nothing before switching over to a Megabass Dog X Jr for some surface action and it didnt take long for the first victom to fall to it not what I was after though

oh well first fish landed and it didnt take long for the second

over the next little while I racked up 7 more smaller bass for a total of 8 bass and a bream heres a couple i took pics of

Sun is starting to go down now and im most of the way back to the launch site not expecting much in the way of bass but maybe a Jack on the surface I persisted. but nothing till im right back 50M from the car, I cast the DogX out behind a little rock bar and get 5 hits on the retreive without hooking up :blush: they were decent size boofs too not sure what it was I fired another cast in and bang as it hits the water im on he inhales it :woohoo: a solid fight begins new it wasnt a bream straight away it was pulling too hard so my first thought was yippy a Jack then i see colour Silver :dry: dam its a nice bass as I think that the hooks pull:angry: fish was probly mid forties. oh well I fire another cast back into the same spot more in disgust than anything else but as im working it back I got absolutley nailed and Dam did this thing have some go :ohmy: after several good runs I got sight of him a Beatiful Big wild bass mm might be a PB I was thinking but first things first get the thumb in his mouth, and he isnt well hooked either. finally got him onboard

What an arvo, got 9 bass and a bream all on the surface, lost one good fish in the mid forties and that 50cm monster I was stoked

Mate it took me a while to really get the knack of surface fishin but once u have the hang of it it can be so much fun and often very productive too
