what fish was it?

Hey guys.

about 3-4 months ago i was flicking a berkly gulp shaky Shad in one of the canels at noosa waiting for the tide to change when it was smashed by something huge i was using my mangrove jack gear (20lb braid and 30lb leader.

i had drag locked up and before i knew it the fish had taken about 70-80 meters of line and was half way up the canel. i was thumbing it but just couldnt turn its head.

any ideas on what it could be?

yeah i was thinking jew cause i felt a cupple of head shakes, and it hit the lure about 3 times before it really took it. the bugger bit me off.

I would also go trevally. Probably was running towards a snag and busted you off on that, hence the roughed up line.
